Services for Vesta Stephens Phelps of Thomasville are at 10:00AM on Monday, July 14, 2008 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Milford Stanley will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Phelps died July 12, 2008 at Camellia Gardens. Born August 19, 1931 in Thomas Co., GA she was the daughter of the late George H., Sr. and Clydie Mae Tucker Stephens. She was a member of New Shiloh Baptist Church and was a homemaker. On August 30, 1947 in Thomasville she married Samuel Wayman Phelps who survives. Other survivors include a son , Kenneth Wayman Phelps of Thomasville, daughter, Katherine Phelps Bryant of Jacksonville, Beverly Phelps Herring of Lilburn, GA, son Samuel Alan Phelps of Columbia, TN; grandchildren, Patrick T. Phelps, Marc A. Phelps, Kimberly D. Exum and Brian A. Bryant; 6 great grandchildren; brothers, George H. Stephens, Jr., Tim Stephens and sister, Anna Laura Ragan all of Thomasville. A brother, Paul Stephens, preceded her in death. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00PM to 7:00PM on Sunday . Visitors may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com .
