Victor Frederic Steyerman

July 15, 1942 — July 3, 2023

Victor Fredric “Vic” “Pappy” Steyerman, 80, of Freeport, Fl, died Monday, July 3, 2023, at home with his wife Sara beside him. A private burial was held in Thomasville, Georgia. Vic was born in Thomasville and moved to Tallahassee as a child. He was a 1960 Florida High School graduate and attended FSU. He served his country in the Coast Guard Reserve.
Victor was a real estate investor and a renowned, well respected lifetime poker player. It has been said by many he was “the best poker player East of the Mississippi”.
Vic was a pioneer in the sport of motocross racing in the Southeastern United States when the sport in Tallahassee was in its infancy. He played a role in the creation and opening of Mid-Lake Raceways in Tallahassee, where the inaugural round of the Florida Winter AMA Motocross Series was held in 1970.
Vic owned and operated Snake Cycle Sales in the early 70's and was a dealer for several early European motorcycle brands. He hand built cycle trailers for his customers and designed an easy load trailer which he made and sold for years. In his later years, he used his welding skills to become a metal artist creating fences, gates, headboards and furniture.
Vic was the organizer and navigator for many motorcycle trips over the years, notably many Baja California Peninsula trips. Later he mapped and planned trips following the Continental Divide from Canada to Mexico.
In 1995, he met his wife and began a magnificent love affair full of adventure. Together they built their dream home on LaGrange Bayou where they delighted in grandchildren visits and many special occasions with friends and family.
Vic will be remembered as a genuine, kind, easygoing, unpretentious man; a true Southern gentleman who loved his family and friends and lived a big, wonderful life.
Victor was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Odessa Steyerman. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sara Barrow Steyerman, his brother, Larry Steyerman (Renie), stepchildren, Carla Evans, Brent Evans and Clay Evans (Robyn), grandchildren Aubrey Evans, Ashton Renee Evans, and Gus Ettore.
Special thanks and gratitude to Rafael Quintin, who provided excellent caregiving and friendship for over two years.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Vic's life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Parkinson's Foundation www.parkinson.org
