Vinson C. Ragan, Jr.

Graveside services for Vinson C. Ragan, Jr., 79 of Thomasville, will be Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Rev. Johnny Cooper will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Allen Poppell, Jeff Poppell, David Melton, Randy Johnson, David Thacker and Danny Shealey. Members of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class and men of Pineland Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. Mr. Ragan died on July 28, 2007 in Thomasville. Born in Moultrie, GA on June 10, 1928, Mr. Ragan was the son of the late Vinson C. and Sallie Mae Norman Ragan. On August 9, 1953 in Thomasville, he married Blanche Ragan, who survives. Mr. Ragan was self-employed with Ragan Roofing. He was a member of Pineland Baptist Church. Other survivors include 2 sons and daughters in law, Lee and Ann Ragan and Kent and Marie Ragan all of Thomasville; a daughter in law Adrienne Sutton; 5 grandchildren, Kristen Ashworth, Mary Elizabeth Ragan, Brandon Ragan, Kyle Ragan and Alicia Ragan. Also surviving are 2 sisters, Docia Sapp of Thomasville and Christine Cranford of Tullahoma, Tenn., a brother John Ragan of Thomasville and several nieces and nephews. A son, Ray Ragan, preceded Mr. Ragan in death. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 on Monday night at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
