Funeral services for Violet Lillian Chapman, 86, of Barwick are 1:00 pm, Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at Barwick Baptist Church with interment in Roselawn Cemetery. The Rev. Elbert Channell will officiate. Mrs. Chapman died February 25, 2008, at Golden Living Center. Born March 31, 1921 in Barwick, she was the daughter of the late Wilber & Nellie Redfern Jarrard. She was married to Dennis Bill Chapman, who preceded her in death. She was retired from the Brooks Co. School System where she worked in the lunchroom at Barwick Elementary School. Survivors include son & daughter-in-law, Harlan Dennis & Kathy Chapman of Flowery Branch, Ga, step daughters & sons-in-law, Patty & Bill Sumner, Anna Bell & Jerry Gladney, all of Thomasville, stepdaughter, Mary Nell Bellew of Oneonta, Al., sisters, Lorraine Jones of Augusta, Ga, Virginia McCarter, Ruth Sheppard, both of Barwick, grandchildren, Carl Walton, Rick Edwards, Mike Edwards, Dennis Edwards, Doug Edwards, Roy Finch, Laura Shores, Shonda Orso, Melanie Redmond, Tracey Davis, Joni Bellew, Jill Hyde, James Sumner, Jeffery French, Dedra Bryant, Sarah Jackson, Kerri Chapman and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter Rhea Marie Edwards, grandson, Brandon Finch, brothers, Lester Jarrard, Jack Jarrard, Jerry Jarrard, sisters, Mertie Owens, Brunell Pope and Hazel Sowell.
