Virginia Sue Brasington

Virginia Sue Brasington, 91, of Pavo, passed away on February 16, 2026, in Thomasville. She was born on March 19, 1934, in Washington, Missouri, to the late Rupert Allen Green and Allie Jane "Sue" Green.

Virginia graduated from Marion County High School in Ocala, Florida before pursuing college studies in New Hampshire. She married Frank Brasington in June of 1953 and they enjoyed 56 years together. She was a devoted member of the Pavo Methodist Church, where she found both faith and friendship. Her passion for homemaking was evident in her love for cooking, caring for her yard and spending time with her family. Virginia also had a keen mind, finding joy in reading and solving crossword puzzles.

Survivors include her children, Glen Brasington (Marie) of Pavo, Thomas Lee Brasington of Pavo, Leslie Diane Fountain (Michael) of Lawrenceville, and Linda York (Greg) of Pavo; grandchildren, Sonja Barlow (Paul), Meghan Lee Smith (Lamar), Travis Lee Brasington, Allie Grace Brasington, Amanda Meeks (Quentin), and Crystal Butler (Brett); great-grandchildren Shelby Barlow, Avery Smith, Sutton Smith, Grayson Meeks, Kayle Meeks, Henley Meeks, and Baylor Meeks.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, parents and son-in-law, Bucky Moore.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 2 pm at Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends on February 21, 2026, from12:30 pm- 1:30 pm at the home of Glen Brasington, 532 Kelly Woods Road, Pavo, GA 31778.
