Services for Virginia Royal Shackelford, 78, of Thomasville, are at 4:00 pm, Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Lee Waller will officiate and interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Shackelford died March 25, 2008. Born February 14, 1930, in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Laben and Hattie Mae Curles Royal. She was married to Richard Shackelford who survives. Other survivors include son, Shadrick Adam Shackelford of Thomasville; brothers, Herman Royal of Baconton, Melvin Royal of Cotton and Therman Royal.
