Services for Virginia Terrell Murphy, 86 of Boston will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Boston Methodist Church. Pastor Kirk Beckham will officiate and interment will be in Boston Cemetery. Mrs. Murphy passed away February 21, 2013 at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman. Born September 22, 1926 in Fargo, Ga; she was the daughter of the late Brinson Terrell and Maude Mobley Terrell. She was married to James Elton Murphy, Sr who preceded her in death. Mrs. Murphy was a past director of the Scott Senior Center and was a past member of the Thomas County Board of Health. But most importantly, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, Bobby Murphy and wife Elizabeth of Boston, Terre Murphy and wife Pearl of Thomasville, Jamie Murphy of Thomasville, Wayne Murphy of Boston, Van Murphy and wife Julie of Quitman, Gina Murphy Hall of Boston and Lee Murphy and wife Cheryl of Thomasville; 17 grand-Children; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; sisters, Louise McKinley of Houston, TX and Marian Bruce of Boston. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Sterling Murphy; great-grandson, Brandon Brinkley and brother, Brinson Terrell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Friends of the Boston Cemetery, P.O. Box 147, Boston, Ga 31626 or the Boston Methodist Church, P.O. Box 146, Boston, Ga 31626.
