Vivian Stanaland passed away December 27, 2021 at home. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, December 28, 2021, from 5 to 7 at Allen and Allen Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, 11:00am, at Dawson Street Baptist Church with her pastor Lee Waller presiding. Interment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Born July 29, 1940 in Cairo, Georgia to the late Jessie Roy Godwin and Laura Akridge Pearce. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, John; daughters Rhonda Law (Charles), Lawana Rayburn (Jeff) and son Clay Stanaland (Missy); brothers Frankie Lee Pearce and Lavon Pearce; grandchildren Cole Stanaland (Kelci), Kendall Stanaland, Thomas Rayburn and Andrew Rayburn; along with several nieces and nephews and special friends Tommy and Voncile Mobley.
Vivian attended schools in Cairo and Thomasville. She was a devoted wife, mama, and granny. She was an active member of Dawson Street Baptist Church for many years and served on a variety of committees with her favorite being the benevolence committee. She was also very active with the WMU programs of the church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Jean Stanaland and sisters Vernice Hagan and Vera Hagan.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Cole, Thomas and Andrew and friends Todd Mobley, Keith Mobley and Jeff Teehee.
