Vivian Suber Luke

Funeral services for Vivian Suber Luke, 79, of Thomasville will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, November 3, 2008, at Dawson Street Baptist Church. The Rev. Billy Majors, Pastor Mack Luke, and Rev. Lee Waller will officiate and interment will be in Salem Cemetery. Mrs. Luke died October 30, 2008 at Camillia Gardens. Born October 5, 1929 in Pavo, she was the daughter of the late James J. Suber and Leila Hobbs Suber. She graduated from Pavo High School as Valedictorian of her senior class. She found her niche in banking and became a familiar figure in the loan department at Commercial Bank, retiring as vice-president after 43 years. She was named Boss of the Year in 1982. In 1948 she married her beloved husband, S.D. Luke, who survives. Other survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Pam & Steve Barronton of Thomasville, two grandchildren, Abby Barronton and Cameron Barronton. She was preceded in death by brothers, Herbert Suber and Tom Suber, sisters, Ruby Clark and Bernice Harrell. Memorials may be made to Thomasville - Thomas County Humane Society, 180 Big Star Dr, Thomasville, Ga 31792. The family will receive friends 3-5 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.
