Vonleih Carter

Services for Vonleih Carter, 86, of Thomasville, will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Allen & Allen Funeral Home, with pastor Brent Welch officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM prior to the service. Vonleih passed away on September 12, 2023. He was born September 16, 1936, to Odell and Beatrice Whitley Carter. He was a member of the Northwoods Church of God. Vonleih was a bus driver for the Thomasville City Schools. He loved both the Thomasville and Georgia Bulldogs, and enjoyed fishing. Vonleih is survived by daughter-in-law Patricia Carter; stepchildren Bernard Cannon of Thomasville and Carol Jones of Whigham; grandchildren Ricky Carter Jr. (Andria) of Thomasville, Reggie Carter of Thomasville, Shawn Clemons of Live Oak, Fl., Ricky Cannon of Pensacola, Fl.; Great-grandchildren Cierra Carter, Case Carter, and Colin Carter; Great-great grandchild Brayleigh Nix; and sister Roberta Sinclair of Pavo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Boutwell Carter; Son Ricky Carter Sr.; and brother Jimmy Lee Carter. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
