Graveside services for Walter Lynwood Beaver Eason are at 11:00AM on Thursday, March 11, 2004 at Laurel Hill Cemetery on Georgia Street. The Rev. Dr. Milton C. Gardner and the Rev. Dr. Dan Spencer will officiate. Mr. Eason died March 8, 2004 at Archbold Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in Waycross, GA on November 5, 1925, and moved to Thomasville at an early age. He was a son of the late Edward Boyd and Fannie Lou Simpson Eason. On August 18, 1949 in Casey, Alabama he married Mary Evelyn Turner Eason who survives. Mr. Eason graduated from Thomasville High School where he was a football, baseball, and track star; and a graduate of Georgia Military Institute in Milledgeville where he also starred in sports. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and was stationed in the Pacific Theater. He was a retired Federal Employee having worked for 37 years with the VA Domiciliary Center in Thomasville and Miami, and with General Services Administration in Thomasville. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, a daughter, Gail Eason Clark Steve, daughter, Kaye Eason Casanova James, all of Thomasville, son, Walter Lynwood Eason, Jr. Chip of Folkston, GA.; six grandchildren, Stephanie Clark Morris Chad of Coolidge, Sonja Clark of Thomasville, Brittany Eason of Kingsland, GA., Kalyn Casanova, James Casanova, Kelley Casanova, all of Thomasville; great grandchildren, Savannah and Charlie Morris of Coolidge and Madolyn Clark of Thomasville. The family request no flowers. If you wish memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 2790, Thomasille, to Archbold Memorial Hospital, or to you favorite Charity.
