Funeral services for Walter Stephens Jordan will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday September 2, 2013 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 807 Remington Avenue with Bishop Ben Smith officiating. Interment will be in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Born on June 20, 1926 in Autreyville, Ga, he was the son of the late John Alexander Jordan and Jewel Missouri Levicy Johnson Jordan. Mr. Jordan was a veteran of the United States Army and was a Truck Driver for Central Truck Lines and Transcon Truck Lines. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Yaarab Temple, and the Teamsters Union. He is preceded in death by his wife whom he married on December 20th, 1947, Ola Mae Vick Jordan who died on October 14, 2001. Survivors include his children Linda Dale Jordan Fiddie, Donna Kay Jordan, Wayne Alan and Robin Jordan, John Alexander, Diane Jordan, and daughter in law Susan A. Jordan; grandchildren Stephen W and Holly Fiddie, Autumn C Jordan and Joe Perez, David and Ginny Jordan, Stephen Bart and Michelle Jordan, Step-grandson Eric and Renee Burdette.Godson Paul and Bree Bryant; Great grandchildren Seth Fiddie, Alexandria Fiddie, Micah Fiddie, Austin Jordan, Kayla Jordan, Dixie Jordan, Connor Burdette, Emma Mae Jordan, Emma Bryant, Hayli Bryant; siblings Juanita Jordan Burns, Joseph Lee and Bobbie Jordan, Eulis and Mary Ellen Jordan, Tiny Elizabeth Jordan Blackburn; brother-in-law Homer and Dorothy Vick. He was preceded in death by his children Marcia Ann Jordan and Walter Stephen Jordan, Jr; siblings Pauline Jordan Phillips, Viola Jordan Sterling, Eula Jordan and Willie Alexander Jordan. Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 5:00-7:00 PM.
