Wesley W. Gillis, II, aged 36, passed away on October 30, 2024, in Thomasville, GA. Born on February 19, 1988, Wesley was a beloved member of the Thomasville community, admired for his strong work ethic, competitive spirit, and unwavering devotion to his family. He was known for always encouraging those around him to push themselves and become their best selves, inspiring everyone he touched.

Wesley was a loving and dedicated father, wholeheartedly committed to supporting and caring for his children. He cherished his role as a parent and worked tirelessly to provide a life filled with love and stability. Wesley earned his associate’s degree in Information Technology with honors from Southern Regional Technical College and was pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity. He was also a proud veteran who served his country with honor in the United States Army.

In his free time, Wesley found joy in fishing, working on old cars, and spending time at the beach. He loved the outdoors and took pleasure in working with his hands. His passion for technology brought yet another dimension to his life, reflecting his curiosity and commitment to growth.

Wesley is survived by his loving wife, Lucinda Gillis; his mother, Angela Gillis; his father, Wesley Gillis, Sr.; and his cherished children, Fenriff McGrath, Aurora Gillis, Cillian Gillis, Buddy Gillis, Tristan Gillis, and Devina Gillis. He also leaves behind his siblings, LeLania (Nicole) and Travis Cone, Joshua Gillis, and Lydia (Victoria) and Cody Weldon; his nieces and nephews, Landon Wilson, Chloe Gillis, Riley Gillis, and Alizabeth Gillis; as well as his in-laws, Mike and Ann Lakin, and their family. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Robert “Chip” Carden, Jr., whose memory he held close to his heart.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 2pm at New Life Fellowship Church, 151 Hebron Ln, Thomasville, GA 31792. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Wesley’s remarkable life, his loyalty to those he loved, and his dedication to everything he pursued. Wesley’s legacy of hard work, and love of his family will forever be cherished by all who were fortunate to know him.
