Services for Wilbur Vernis Brogdon of Thomasville are 2:00PM on Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. Rev. Bob Hall & Rev. Robert Smith will officiate with interment at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Brogdon died February 24, 2003 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born January 5, 1916 in Alapha, GA., he was the son of the late Ed & Mary Tucker Brogdon. On May 3, 1936 in Berrien Co., GA., he married Mattie Ruth Spurlock Brogdon who survives. Mr. Brodgon was a member of Dawson Street Methodist Church and was a retired owner of Brogdon Grocery Store. Other survivors include a son & daughter-in-law, Dean & Connie Brogdon of Thomasville; brother, Edison Brogdon of Gainesville, Fl., sisters, Elsie Berrientine of Nashville, GA., Euretha Harper of Tifton, GA., grandchildren, Christopher Dorman Brogdon, Forest Slade Brogdon, Susan Brogdon Waters; great grandchildren; Mattie Waters, Jason Brogdon and Colby Brogdon. He was preceded in death by a son, Dorman Brogdon; sisters, Annette Brogdon, Maudine Sims & Mildred Powell. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
