William "Bill" Etheridge Carson

Funeral services for William “Bill” Etheridge Carson of Boston will be held at 11:00AM on Monday April 30, 2018 in the Boston Presbyterian Church with Reverend Don West and Reverend Tim Phillips officiating. Interment will be in Boston Cemetery. Mr. Carson passed away on Saturday April 28, 2018 at his residence. Born on January 15, 1938 in Boston, he was the son of the late Clarence Harvey Carson Jr. and Louise Etheridge Carson. He was a life long resident of Boston where he was the owner of multiple small business’ which includes Carson Grocery, Carson Pecan Company, before retiring from Boston Seed Company. Mr. Carson served in the United States Air Force where he was Honorably Discharged. His interest was his family as well as the Coffee Club Breakfast at the Boston Main Street Café with his son Bill, and many friends. He was also an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Lucille Sherrod Carson of Boston whom he married on September 22, 1963. Other survivors include his children Caroline Carson Ginn and husband Bryan of Augusta, Ga, Cindy Carson Richards and husband John of Boston, William “Bill” Etheridge Carson Jr. and wife Tina of Thomasville, Kim Carson Smith and husband Ches of Athens, Ga; grandchildren Bo Ginn III and wife Hannah of Gainesville, Fl., Carson Ginn Staton and husband John of Augusta, Ga., Dalton McQueen of Boston, Madeline Carson of Thomasville, Adrienne Carson of Thomasville, William “Will” Etheridge Carson III of Thomasville, Julianne Carson of Thomasville, Lucy Smith of Athens, Ga., Ches Smith VI of Athens, Ga., Petty Officer Second Class John Richards, Jr., USN and wife Renee of Virginia Beach, Va., Paige Richards of Thomasville; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters Susan “Sue” Carson Groover, Patti Jean Carson, and brother Clarence Harvey “Sonny” Carson, III. The Carson family wishes to thank Ms. Frances Bryant for her nurturing spirit and the superior care she provided to the Carson family. His family also wishes to thank Kindred Hospice of Bainbridge for professional and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers his family request that memorial gifts be directed toward the Friends of Boston Cemetery at P.O. Box 147 Boston, Ga. 31626 or to the Boston Presbyterian Church at P.O. Box 99 Boston, Ga. 31626. Mr. Carson’s family will greet friends and family at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 4:00-6:00 PM.
