William (Bill) Thomas Weissinger Iv

Services for William Thomas (Bill) Weissinger IV will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday November 5, 2017 at All Saints Episcopal Church where he was a member. Rev. Paul Hancock will officiate with inurnment in the All Saints Memorial Garden. Dr. Weissinger passed away on Thursday November 2, 2017 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born on June 16, 1943 in San Antonio, Tx., he was the son of the late William Thomas Weissinger III and Elizabeth Ann Keyton Weissinger who survives. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from the Thomas County School System as a School Psychologist working at Thomas County Central High School. He received his B.S. degree from Auburn University, his M.S. degree from Troy State University and his Ed.D from the University of Alabama. Bill’s greatest joy in life was his family, friends, and helping people. His career spanned such endeavors as mental health counseling, substance abuse counseling, working with people suffering handicapping conditions, and practicing school psychology in public schools. By far his greatest enjoyment was sitting on the front porch at the farm, drinking coffee with his grandson Charlie and watching the sunrise together. Bill will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his mother Betty Ann Keyton Weissinger of Dothan, Al; wife Elizabeth H. (Betty) Weissinger of Thomasville; sons and daughters-in-law Fred S. and Lauren L. Whitfield of Thomasville, Ga, William T. and Madeline C. Conger of Baton Rouge, La, John K. and Shanell Weissinger of Huntsville, Al; 7 granchildren; brother Arthur K, Weissinger of Vancouver Canada; sister Katherine W. Raines of Andersonville, Ga; He was preceded in death by his son Franklin D. Whitfield. In lieu of flowers his family asks that donations be made to All Saints Episcopal Church at 443 S. Hansell St. Thomasville, Ga. 31792. His family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon from 4:00-6:00 PM.
