Services for William Braxton Carnline of Thomasville are at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at First Baptist Church where he was a member. The Reverend Mack Luke will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Carnline?s spirit went to be with his Lord on June 19, 2005, surrounded by family and close friends.
Born February 20, 1934 in Cairo, Georgia, he was the son of the late Johnie Thomas Carnline and Rosa Lee Hester Carnline. On November 25, 1957 in Thomasville, he married Juanita Luke Carnline, who survives. He was a veteran of the United States Army Infantry and earned the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
Mr. Carnline?s entire career was spent in the automobile industry. He was widely known for his automotive knowledge and abilities. He established the first body shop at Thomasville Sales Company in 1956 and successfully operated it until 1972 when he purchased his own business, Superior Motorcars, Inc.
Braxton Carnline loved his Lord, Jesus Christ, his family and friends and his country.
Other survivors include special son, Jim McDonald and wife, Barbara, of Thomasville; sons: Gary Carnline and wife, Marsha, of Meigs, Georgia, Sam Carnline and wife, Suzanne, of Cairo; daughter, Angie Durham and husband, Wade, of Thomasville. Grandchildren: Heath Carnline, Cody Carnline, Samantha Carnline, Sarah Carnline, John Braxton Carnline, Grayson Durham and Cassie Durham. A special friend and angel of mercy, Ellen Eisele. A brother, Gene Carnline, preceded him in death.
