William Carlile Gibson

Services for William Carlile Gibson will be Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 2:00PM at New Shiloh Baptist Church. The Rev. Steve Brooks will officiate and interment will be in Big Ochlocknee Cemetery. Mr. Gibson died March 30, 2005 in Thomasville. Born February 14, 1921, he was the son of the late Elisha Elmer Major & Maxie Chastain Gibson. On October 31, 1945 he married Velma Allen Gibson who survives. He was a member of New Shiloh Baptist Church where he served as deacon, and a former member of Coolidge Baptist Church where he taught adult Sunday school and was the church treasurer. Mr. Gibson was retired Navy Lt. Commander and also retired from Farmers and Merchants Bank of Coolidge where he was an Executive Vice President and Cashier. Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law Mark William and Pam Gibson of Cedar Mountain, NC, and John and Sue Gibson of Moultrie, daughter and son-in-law Nancy G. & Frank Forbes of Nashville, TN, and brothers James M. Gibson of Canal Point, Fl, and Roderick C. Gibson of Colorado Springs, Co. Also surviving are grandchildren, Kevin Forbes, Jeremy Gibson, Adam Gibson, Aaron Gibson, Jared Gibson, Joseph Gibson, Josh Gibson, Jennifer Holifield and five great grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to The Lighthouse Children?s Home, 7771, Mahan Dr, Tallahassee, Fl, 32309 and the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 66, Thomasville, Ga 31799. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 1, 2005 from 6 to 8pm. Guest may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com .
