William Stewart Kilgore, 59, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026 after a brief illness. Born and raised in Tallahassee, Will was the son of Samuel Gordon Kilgore, Sr. and JoEtta Lovelace Hagan.

A lifelong Tallahassee resident before moving to South Georgia in recent years, Will found great happiness after meeting his beloved wife, Kathie. A devoted Florida State fan, he loved sports of every kind, but nothing ever rivaled his passion for FSU football. Will was a painter by trade and took pride in the craft he honed over decades, but the true center of his life was always the people he cared for. His love for Kathie was steadfast and deep, and he carried a lasting love for his daughter, Hannah, a love that remained strong even through the complexities that life placed between them.

Will had a gift for turning an ordinary moment into a story worth retelling, and he brought a playful, mischievous energy everywhere he went. He was someone who could make you laugh and, at times, frustrate you just as easily, but beneath every big personality moment was a kind‑hearted man who cared deeply for the people in his life. He remained a kid at heart, full of humor and a spirit larger than life. Those who knew him will remember his spark, his stubborn charm, and the way he could make even simple moments feel unforgettable.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kathie Kilgore of Newton; daughter, Hannah Kilgore of Monticello; brothers, Andy (Patti) Kilgore and John (Kim) Kilgore, both of Tallahassee; sister, LeeAnn (Daniel) Barfield of Bainbridge; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Samuel Gordon Kilgore, Jr.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Will’s life at Allen & Allen Funeral Home in Thomasville, GA on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Will’s laughter, love, and larger‑than‑life spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
