Mr. William Michael Muggridge, 59, of Milledgeville, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday Dec. 3, 2014 in Atlanta, Ga. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday December 6, 2014 at Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Milledgeville Ga. Interment was in Scenic Memorial Gardens in Milledgeville. “Mike” was the son of the late William C. Muggridge of Thomasville Ga. and the late Virginia Crum Flanigan of Albany. He was a member of St. Stevens Episcopal Church and lived in Milledgeville for 14 years with his beloved wife Lorie. He was the stepson of Gladys Muggridge of Thomasville, Ga., who survives. Mike graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in architecture and served as project manager of several firms before joining Hathaway Corporation in 1999 as construction division manager. In 2004 after the successful completion of over 3400 units with a construction volume of $160 million, he accepted the presidency of Hathaway Corporation. Under his leadership, innovative style, and commitment to project development, the Hathaway Corporation sustained significant growth and recognition as one of the southeastern regions’ leading development and construction companies. Mike also lead in the creation of three sister companies and was involved in their day to day operation. More than any of his professional achievements, Mike was most proud of his family and was a devoted husband and father of 2 daughters and 3 stepsons. He is survived by his wife Lorie Maxwell Muggridge; children Allison Muggridge of Atlanta, Mary Cathryn Muggridge of Milledgeville, Brian Herndon (Katherine) of Dallas TX., Kyle Herndon (Amy) and Scott Herndon, both of Atlanta. He has a brother Charles Rick Muggridge of Albany and two nieces and a nephew. He is also survived by a step sister Wendy Mays Spencer (Ron) of Washington D.C. and Tallahassee Fl., and a step brother Warren Cameron Mays (Anne) of Vero Beach, Fl.
