William C. Muggridge died at home in Thomasville on July, 17, 2013 after a brief illness. Born January 26, 1927 in Cairo he was the youngest of eight children of the late Charlie Reiser Muggridge and Eula Lewis Muggridge from early pioneer families of Grady County.
"Bill" is a US Army World War II veteran having served in the European Theatre on detached service to the Counter Intelligence Corps in Germany.
After he received a BS degree in Natural Science and Agriculture in 1950, Bill taught high school for several years and subsequently obtained a MA degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Georgia. After teaching he began a state career in Rehabilitation Services. He completed 25 years in the operation and instruction of DUI schools in both Cairo and Thomasville.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Gladys Ferguson Muggridge of Thomasville and two sons, William Michael Muggridge wife, Lori of Milledgeville and Charles Rick Muggridge wife, Terry of Leesburg, Ga. He has one stepson, Warren Cameron Mays wife, Anne of Vero Beach, Fl and one stepdaughter, Wendy Mays Spencer husband, Ron of Tallahassee and Washington, DC. Grandchildren are: Allison Muggridge and Mary Cathryn Muggridge of Atlanta, Joshua, Julianna, and Bailey Muggridge of Leesburg:

Surviving sisters are Mary Moore of Enterprise, Al and Joyce Pickens of Grady County, a sister-in- law, Anna Duff husband, Steven of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl.
Services will be held on Saturday, July 20 at 4:00 pm at Victory Baptist Church, 938 N. Pinetree Blvd, Thomasville. Rev. Gary Holland will officiate and internment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery. The family will receive at friends from 3:00 pm until service time.
