William Olen Dekle

Funeral services for William Olen Dekle will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at Westside Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Lancaster and Rev. William Cain officiating. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Dekle died February 14, 2005 at his residence. Born on May 22, 1910 in Mitchell Co., Ga., he was the son of the late Albert R. Dekle and Velma Clifford Johnston Dekle. Mr. Dekle was the retired owner of Dekle Funeral Chapel in Thomasville. He was a graduate of the Gupton - Jones School of Mortuary Science, a veteran of World War II, a member of Westside Baptist Church for 55 years, Kiwanis Club of Thomasville, Mason Lodge #369, and the Georgia Funeral Directors Association. Mr. Dekle is married to Halcie Murchinson Dekle of Thomasville. Other survivors include daughters Ann Wright of Thomasville and Debra Wright of Atlanta; brother A.R. Dekle Jr. of Thomasville; Nephews Rudolph Allen of Thomasville, Elmer Allen of Pelham, Max Allen of Pine Park, Ga.; niece Judy Jackson of Thomasville, Gail Chason of Cairo, Linda Compton of Marietta, Ga., and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Sabie Allen. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7 ? 9 PM. Guest may sign the online register book at www.allenfh.com .
