William Rupert Vick

Memorial services for William Rupert Vick, 85, of Cairo are 2 pm, Sunday, June 1, 2008 at Springhill Christian Church. The Pastor Ray Parker will officiate. Mr. Vick died May 30, 2008 at Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany. Born December 27, 1922 in Cairo, he was the son of the late William Martin Vick and Eliza Jane "Sweetie" Gainous Vick. He was married to Doris Moye Vick, who survives. He was a WWII veteran, a Shriner, a carpenter and a member of First Christian Church. Survivors include son & daughter-in-law, Chris & Diane Vick, daughter, Kathy Cooper, daughter & son-in-law, Neva Dee & Don Stringer, grandchildren, Candy Godwin, Chase Vick, Shawn Cooper, Hope Greene Dee Stringer, Dori Stringer, great-grandchildren, Ashley Vick, Blade Vick, Nicole Cooper, Kinley Godwin, Cayton Godwin, and sister, Rosa Brinson.
