Wilma Essie Carter

Services for Wilma Essie Carter will be held Saturday, October 19, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Allen & Allen Chapel with Pastor Danny Thomas, Sr. officiating. Interment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Wilma passed away on October 15, 2019. She was born on October 21, 1934, in Cairo to the late Clyde Thomas Pyles and to the late Mary Alma Cofer Pyles. She was married to Dallas Carter. She had a heart of gold, loved life, and will be greatly missed. Her words, “I’m not a quitter, but a fighter.” Survivors include her children, Elizabeth McCranie of Houston, Texas, Johnny Morris of Thomasville; siblings, Mable Beason (Clyde) of Thomasville, Ray Pyles (Carolyn) of Fort Valley, Shirley Thomas (Danny) of Thomasville; grandchildren, Chris McCranie, James McCranie, Timothy McCranie, Jesse Bazan, Jim Sellers, Trevor Sellers, and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; children, Linda Faye Darby, Billy Ray Hartley, Barbara Sellers; siblings, and Julie Harvell (Donald.) She had a large number of nieces and nephews.
