Wilma Parrish, 83, of Thomasville, Georgia passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Archbold Hospital. She was born in Winter Haven, Florida on December 18, 1939. We celebrate her life as a faithful servant of the Lord for over sixty years with the love of her life, Norman Parrish. Together they raised six beautiful daughters. She began teaching Sunday School when she was twenty-two years old and never stopped. She had a passion for outreach and missions and always had a big heart for her church family. She never hesitated to bring a meal, visit the sick, give generously, and pray for others. She dedicated her home life to her husband and family with a loving heart and selflessness. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Norma (David) Rogers of Clayton, Georgia, Paula (Ike) Maxwell of Thomasville, Georgia, Pam (Ray) Monk of Loganville, Georgia, Dawn Parrish of Tampa, Florida, Mara (Jeff) Thibodeau of Valdosta, Georgia, and Ginny (Joel) Miller of Johnson City, Tennessee, her thirteen grandchildren Ryan (Nikki) Gohs, Jessica McCrary, Adam Maxwell, Rachael (Charlie) Edwards, Kristy (Richard) Faucett, Stacy (Derek) Benton, Grace Rogers, Micaela Wood, Kendra Wood, Abigail Thibodeau, Benjamin Miller, Rhett Lamb, and Daniel Miller, her three great-grandchildren AbiGrace Edwards, Anna Poole, and Harper McCrary, her sister Donna (Tim) Drake of Wooster, Ohio, and her sister-in-law DeeDee Collins of Tifton, Georgia, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Emory and Mamie Collins, her sister Jacquelin Lagerman, and her brother Sherwood Collins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday November 11, 2023 at Dawson Street Baptist Church with Pastor Lee Waller officiating. Her family will greet friends in the church immediately following the service. Private burial will be held in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
