Winnifred Ervin Hammond

Services for Winnifred Ervin Hammond will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Winnifred passed away November 28, 2019 at her residence. Born May 17, 1932 in Newton, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Talmadge McColl and Winnifred Missouri Ervin. She married George Hammond, who survives, in 1956. She owned and operated The Shirt & Denim Shack (which was later changed to Winks) for 19 years. She then worked for the Thomasville School System as a para professional for several years. She was also a member of the Junior Service League and was an avid Bridge player. She is survived by her sons, John Hammond of Thomasville and Cliff Hammond of Blakely, GA; three grandchildren; and sister Bess Mabry of Watkinsville, GA.
