Graveside services for W. Olin Pope, Sr., 95, of Barwick, are 11:00 am, Friday, June 8, 2007, at Rosewood Cemetery, in Barwick with the Rev. Thilmon Vonier officiating. Mr. Pope died June 5, at his home with his family by his side. He was born in a log cabin on the family farm in Barwick on Sept 8, 1911. He was the son of the late Wesley F. & Bertha C. Pope. He was married to Brunell Jarrard Pope, who precedes him in death. He was a farmer and businessman; installing the first telephone system in the town of Barwick, as well as a grocery store, movie theater, produce trucking and well digging enterprises, retiring in 1980. Survivors include daughters, Shirley Pope Rayburn and husband Stanley, of Edison, Dianne B. Pope, of Barwick, sons, Wesley O. Pope, Jr., and wife Janet, of Marianna, Fl., John F. Pope, of Barwick, grandchildren, Stanley ?Stan? E. Rayburn, Jr., Stacey W. Rayburn, Lisa Pope Stanton, great grandchildren, Amanda L. Rayburn, RileyJo A. Rayburn, Colby W. Rayburn, John Hunter Stanton, brothers, Paul E. Pope and O. ?Obbie? H. Pope. 4 sisters and 4 brothers preceded him in death. The family will receive friends at the Barwick Baptist Church reception hall from 10-11 am prior to graveside services.
