A memorial service celebrating the life of Wyatt Allen Shumake, Jr. will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, October 20, 2005 at First Presbyterian Church, Thomasville, Georgia. Mr. Shumake passed away peacefully at his residence on October 17, 2005. Born November 23, 1959 in Americus, GA., he was the son of Lenora Shumake Jones and the late Wyatt Allen Shumake, Sr. Mr. Shumake graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelors degree in Architecture. On September 1, 1990, he married his beloved wife Gina Hubbard in Birmingham, AL. He worked for William Frank McCall, Jr, FAIA in Moultrie, GA., and Barganier Davis Sims in Montgomery, AL. In 1996, he opened his own architectural firm in Thomasville now Shumake & Williams, P.C. Mr. Shumake was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He served on the Board of the State Botanical Gardens of Georgia as well as the boards of Thomasville Landmarks and the Thomasville Cultural Center. Other survivors include his sisters, Mary South of Peachtree City, GA., Angie Livesay of Ft., Myers, FL. and Melanie Hawkins of Ellaville, GA. along with many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ALS Association of Georgia, 1955 Cliff Valley Way, Suite 116, Atlanta, GA 30329. Following the service, the family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church. Visitors may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com .
