Zack Terrell Williams

Funeral services for Zack Terrell Williams, 83, of Barney, GA will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 2 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Charles McDowell will officiate and internment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Williams died on September 29, 2012 in Thomasville. Born June 25, 1929 in Thomas Co., GA, he was preceded in death by his parents Zachary Taylor and Alma Monroe Williams and Caroline Hall Williams. He served in the United States Army. Mr. Williams has a bachelor degree from Georgia Teacher's College and a Master's Degree from Florida State University. From 1952 till 1959, he worked as a teacher and coach for Morven High School and Seminole Co. High School. From 1959 till 2001, he worked an agent and District Manager for Georgia Farm Bureau. In 1974 at Thomasville, he married Joyce Guy Williams, who survives. Mr. Williams was a member of Barney United Methodist Church, served on the Brooks Co. Industrial Development Board, Morven High School Landmarks and was owner and operator of Z T Williams Farms. Other survivors include sons and daughters in law, Zack Hines and Patricia Varnedoe, III of Tallahassee, FL, Stephens Cooke and Danielle Varnedoe of Columbia, SC and Robert Guy and Layne Varnedoe of Homerville, GA. Also surviving are grandchildren, Stephanie Houghton, Zachary Varnedoe, Lee Varnedoe, Joel Varnedoe , John Varnedoe and a great granddaughter, Caroline Jane Houghton.
